Zumba is rooted in Latin American dance styles like salsa, merengue, cumbia, and reggaeton. While sessions are set to the traditional rhythms of these dances, modern Zumba frequently features pop, hip-hop, and other contemporary styles, making the workout even more dynamic and varied. The genre, tempo, and rhythm of the music dictate the workout's intensity and the character of the movements.

A quick reminder: in addition to Zumba, "Reforma" also offers Yoga classesto support both your physical and mental well-being at the same time.

What are the benefits of Zumba?

Regular Zumba training enhances physical endurance,as the body operates continuously throughout each session. The rhythmic cardio workout boosts the heart rate and strengthens the cardiovascular system, allowing the body to better handle prolonged physical exertion. Over time, overall energy levels also increase.

Additionally, intensive cardio exercise increases energy expenditure and stimulates metabolic processes.During the workout, the body actively burns calories, while regular sessions help the metabolism function more efficiently both during and after the exercise. As a result, weight management becomes easier.

Zumba’s choreographic movements require simultaneous, synchronized coordination of arms and legs, which develops the neuromuscular connection. Regular practice enhances movement precision, improves balance, and sharpens spatial awareness. Over time, your movements become more fluid and free.

These types of workouts are a major mood booster. The energetic music and active movements stimulate the release of endorphins—the so-called 'happiness hormones.' As a result, stress and tension melt away. That energetic and positive vibe stays with you long after the workout is over.

At "Reforma" fitness club, Zumba classes are designed for everyone—from beginners to experienced movers. Our professional instructors tailor sessions to each participant’s physical abilities and fitness level. Most importantly, every movement is explained in detail, ensuring you perform them correctly and avoid injury. Sessions take place in a comfortable environment with high-energy music, making every workout incredibly fun and enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions about Zumba

Can a beginner participate in a Zumba session?

How often should I attend Zumba classes per week?

For the best results, we recommend attending 2-3 sessions per week. Regular training helps strengthen the cardiovascular system, boosts metabolism, and promotes effective fat burning. However, for those who simply want to lift their mood, increase energy levels, or add some variety to their workout routine, attending Zumba sessions at longer intervals is also highly recommended.

Do I need any special equipment?

No special equipment is required for Zumba. Comfortable, lightweight sportswear and athletic shoes are all you need. Due to the dynamic movements, choosing the right footwear is especially important to protect your knees and ankles. Any additional equipment or accessories will be provided for you at the gym.
